FC Ararat-Armenia apologizes

Yerevan’s Ararat-Armenia Football Club has issued a statement apologizing for the incident that took place during the match of the 25th round of the Armenian championship against Gyumri’s Shirak Football Club.

“Dear football fans,

 The personnel of Ararat-Armenia Football Club and general manager Poghos Galstyan, who were in the booth during the Ararat-Armenia – Shirak match, reacted very strongly to the referee’s decision and showed their disagreement.

 Mr. Galstyan personally and the football club’s personnel regret that this happened and consider this unpleasant incident inadmissible.

This should not happen again, and we call on football fans to go to the stadium and continue to support our team and Armenian football,” the statement reads.

The match at Avan Football Academy ended with a tie (2-2). FC Ararat-Armenia is in second place with 39 points, falling behind FC Alashkert by 1 point.
