World’s oldest professional footballer extends contract

Yokohama FC have extended their contract with 51-year-old forward Kazuyoshi Miura, the official website of this Japanese club reported.

The new contract of the world’s oldest professional footballer is expected to run until January 31, 2020.
But he has not scored any goals nor made any assists in nine appearances in the past season of the J2 League, the second division of the Japan Professional Football League.

Throughout his career, however, Miura has netted 55 goals in 89 appearances for the Japanase national squad.
