Pitch invader, holding Karabakh flag during Arsenal vs. Qarabag match, is released

The fan who had invaded the pitch while holding the national flag of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR) and wearing a T-shirt with the image of national hero of Armenia and Artsakh and military commander, the late Monte Melkonian, during Arsenal’s last UEFA Europa League group-stage match against Qarabag FK (Azerbaijan) has been released.

Sergey Janjoyan, a founding member of the First Armenian Front (FAF) Armenian football fan movement, informed the aforementioned on Facebook.

Janjoyan added that this Armenian fan—whose name is Spartak—might not be fined for his action.

Security personnel at the Emirates Stadium of Arsenal had immediately taken him off the pitch.

The Gunners won this match by a score of 1-0, but Arsenal midfielder and Armenia national squad captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan did not play in this game.

The Gunners have placed first in Group E and advanced to the round of 32.

Qarabag, on the other hand, did not make it to the next round.
