Kokorin, Mamayev to face 12 years in prison

Zenit St. Petersburg striker Alexander Kokorin, and Krasnodar midfielder Pavel Mamayev will remain in jail until February 8, sports.ru reported.

The criminal case has been initiated for battery and hooliganism. Football players face up to 12 years in prison.

The pair were detained in October over an alleged drunken attack on a civil servant in a Moscow cafe, and a separate assault on a driver earlier on the same day, the latter leaving the victim with brain damage after suffering a series of blows to the head.
