German power forward Dirk Nowitzki has extended for one more season his current contract with the National Basketball Association (NBA) franchise, the Dallas Mavericks, informed the latter’s website.
Thus, next season will be 40-year-old Nowitzki’s record-breaking 21st season at the Mavs; this is an NBA record for the most number of seasons played for the same team.
The current record belongs to basketball legend Kobe Bryant, who played 20 seasons for the Los Angeles Lakers. Under the new deal, Dirk Nowitzki will receive $5million per season.
