Wenger says Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang need time to adapt to Arsenal

Commenting on their defeat against Manchester City in their English Premier League match, Arsenal’s French manager Arsène Wenger spoke also about his club’s 29-year-old Armenia midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

“We played twice against certainly the best side in the country at the moment and that was of course difficult for us because we didn’t have a good performance in the first game,” Wenger told Sky Sports. “But we have quality and we want to show that.”
“We must stay together but it’s very difficult.

“You come up by the stairs and go down by the lift. That’s what is confidence. That’s the level you have to show to play for Arsenal.

“We’re going through a difficult patch. That’s part of football. We must stay united inside and focus on the next game and put the effort it.

“They [Mkhitaryan and Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang] need time to adapt [to Arsenal].

“Every game you lose you’re under a big pressure but they have just joined us – I’m sure they will do well.”

In the match that was played in London, Arsenal lost at home to Manchester City by a score of 0-3, Henrikh Mkhitaryan was among the Gunners’ starters, he played the entire match, and he was awarded a penalty for Arsenal; but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could not capitalize on this spot kick.
