Robert Pirès: Mkhitaryan is the perfect player for Arsenal

The former France international lauded the Gunners’ Armenia midfielder

Arsenal former midfielder Robert Pirès has lauded the Gunners’ Armenia midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

“I think he’s the perfect player for Arsenal,” the former France international told BTSport.com. “I’m not just saying that because he’s playing for Arsenal now – I liked him before when he was at [Borussia] Dortmund.

“He’s a maestro. He loves to create. He always wants to play for his partners, to play for the team. He wants to make good assists and he’s not selfish. This profile is very good for Arsenal.

“When Arsenal swapped him for Alexis Sanchez…of course it’s very difficult to lose Alexis Sanchez because he’s a great player, one of the best in the [English] Premier League.

“But of course, everyone talks about Mkhitaryan, Ozil and Aubameyang. This trio will be amazing. All of them can make success with Arsenal.

“He [Aubameyang] played very well at Dortmund, where the connection with Mkhitaryan was perfect. I think it should be the same now with Arsenal.”
