Arsène Wenger says Mkhitaryan’s professionalism does not surprise him

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has lauded the club’s newcomer, Armenia midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

“He [Mkhitaryan] has a very professional attitude in training and matches,” said Wenger at his press conference before Saturday’s meeting with Tottenham Hotspur, according to Mirror newspaper of the UK. “I’m not surprised by that - to me, it’s completely normal.”

“Once the game [with Everton] has started, these guys have top-level experience,” Wenger said of Mkhitaryan and fellow Arsenal newcomer, Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. “They know what’s important and that’s to focus on their performance.

“These guys are top quality players. Why should they not repeat the performance? [vs. Everton].”

In Arsenal’s English Premier League 5-1 thrashing of Everton, Mkhitaryan started for the Gunners for the first time, played the full game, and made three assists.
