Federer draws near Nadal, Wozniacki regains number one ranking

The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) on Monday issued their new rankings.

Accordingly, Rafael Nadal has maintained his No.1 ranking in the ATP. But Swiss tennis star Roger Federer, who on Sunday defended his Australian Open title, has come within reach of the Spaniard.

Russia’s No. 2 ranked tennis player, Muscovite Armenian Karen Khachanov, has dropped to 49th spot in the new ranking.

And Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki, who beat Simona Halep in the women’s final at the Australian Open in Melbourne, regained her WTA number one ranking, passing the Romanian player.
