Former world boxing champion refuses to fight against Manny Pacquiao for $100mn

Former four division world boxing champion Juan Manuel Márquez (Mexico) informed that Filipino investors had offered him $100 million for a fifth bout against legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao (Philippines), but he had rejected this offer.
The fourth fight between the two boxers had taken place in 2012, and Márquez had KOed Pacquiao.
“There was an offer for a fifth fight against Pacquiao in the Philippines for $100 million dollars, and I refused in order to keep my honor and the glory of the fourth fight,” BoxingScene quoted the Mexican boxer, who retired from the sport in 2017. “It’s a lot of money - but honor, pride, and what we did is more important than doing a fifth fight. Let’s pretend that the fifth fight would happen. How about if I get robbed in the fight, we do not know what can happen.”
In the four previous clashes between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Márquez, the Filipino boxer won twice, the Mexican came out the victor once, and one bout ended in a draw.
