World Chess Cup: Aronian beats Ivanchuk

Leader of the Armenian chess Levon Aronian is facing Ukraine’s Vasiliy Ivanchuk in the first game of quarterfinals of the FIDE World Chess Cup 2017 underway in Tbilisi.

Armenian grandmaster won the first game at 24 move.

The second game is set for Saturday.

The winner and finalist of the tournament will be qualified to the 2018 candidates' tournament.
