Manager of Russia’s U21 football squad Yevgeniy Bushmanov commented on the draw with Armenia in the second round of UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers.
He said overall the Russian team had advantages, but had to score more.
“We lost two points, and it is very important. But I am sure that everyone will lose points in our group,” he added. “Now the most important thing for the team is, first, to recover from such an energy-consuming match, and secondly, to calm down. Today, there was too much excitement, and it hampered the game,” championat.com quotes Bushmanov.
The match at Moscow's RZD Arena ended in a goalless draw. In the first match of the qualifying round Armenian squad beat Gibraltar 3-0, and for the Russians it was the first game. On September 5, the Armenian youth team will host the Macedonians.
