FIDE Grand Prix Geneva: Armenia’s Aronian to face Russia’s Svidler

The fifth-round games will be played Monday at the Geneva FIDE Grand Prix 2017 chess tournament, which is held in Switzerland.

In this round, Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian (Armenia) will face GM Peter Svidler (Russia).

After four rounds, Aronian—who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions Armenia—and Svidler share the 2nd to 7th places, with 2.5 points apiece.

Eighteen chess players are competing in this nine-round tournament.
