Armenia’s Sona Poghosyan becomes European junior’s silver medalist

Armenia has won two more medals at the Junior & U23 European Weightlifting Championships being held in Eilat, Israel.

Sona Poghosyan became European silver medalist by lifting a combined weight of 218 kg (96 kg in the Snatch and 122 kg in the Clean & Jerk) in the Junior Girl’s 75 kg competition.

And Samvel Gasparyan placed third by lifting a combined weight of 346 kg (150 kg in the Snatch and 196 kg in the Clean & Jerk) in the Junior Boy’s 94 kg contest.

As reported earlier, Armenia’s Davit Hovhannisyan had become European champion by lifting a combined weight of 326 kg (149 kg in the Snatch and 177 kg in the Clean & Jerk) in the Junior Boy’s 77 kg battle.
