Armenia national football squad captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan addressed his teammates and the Armenian fans, in the run-up to their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Romania.
“Despite not being with my NT [i.e. national team], I am confident in our guys & wish us victory!” Mkhitaryan commented on his Facebook account and added, in Armenian: “Dear guys, I’m not with you, but I expect a fighting spirit and a confident game. I’m with you in spirit. Dear fans, your undivided support is very important.”
Due to injury, the Manchester United (England) midfielder had not joined the training camp of the Armenian national team.
Armenia and Romania will lock horns on Saturday in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.
The match will kick off at 8pm, Armenia Standard Time.
