Armenian mountaineers aim to conquer Europe’s highest summit

YEREVAN. – Mountain climbers from the Armenian Mountaineering and Mountain Tourism Federation will head to Mount Elbrus—located in the western Caucasus mountain range—on Saturday to conquer Europe’s highest mountain summit at 5,641 meters above sea level.

The Armenian team comprises Garegin Unosyan, Levon Movsesyan, and novice mountaineer Suren Petrosyan. 

They are expected to climb the mountain on July 3-4 and are scheduled back in Armenia on July 7-8.  

To note, mountain climbers from the Armenian Mountaineering and Mountain Tourism Federation already have conquered the summits of Mt. Kazbek (5,033 m) and Mt. Damavand (5,671 m).
