Dortmund boss: I don’t think we will be able to extend Mkhitaryan’s contract

Borussia Dortmund (BVB) are unlikely to extend the current contract with midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, one of the leaders of the team.

Hans-Joachim Watzke, CEO of this German football squad, informed the aforesaid speaking about the captain of the Armenia national team.

“I don’t think we will be able to extend the contracts of Mkhitaryan, [Mats] Hummels, and [İlkay] Gündoğan,” Bild daily newspaper of Germany quoted Watzke as saying. “But it is ruled out that any of them will leave Dortmund next season.”

The current contracts of these players with BVB run until the summer of 2017.
Arsenal F.C., Chelsea F.C. (England), and Juventus (Italy), however, are interested in the services of the Armenia international.

The 27-year-old midfielder has scored 23 goals and made 29 assists in 49 appearances so far, in all the leagues which Dortmund are competing in the current season.
