Colombia national squad midfielder James Rodríguez’s transfer from AS Monaco to FC Real Madrid (Spain) has become the fifth most expensive acquisition in football history.
Real have paid €80 million for the 23-year-old player.
As a result, Rodríguez’s transfer is the fifth most expensive deal following that of Brazil’s Neymar (€111․7 million), Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo (€96 million), Wales’ Gareth Bale (€91 million), and Uruguay’s Luis Suárez (€81 million).
