Russian figure skater Evgeni Plushenko, who is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, went on ice for the first time following his back surgery on March 3. The 31-year-old athlete tweeted that he feels well.
“Thanks to this little angel Miya Honda, I came out to the skating rink for the first time after the surgery. I feel fine,” the Russian figure skater tweeted.
Plushenko had landed awkwardly during his pre-short program warm up at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, and, as a result, one of his spinal discs was fractured.
