Ronaldo targets new record

Portugal national football team and FC Real Madrid (Spain) striker Cristiano Ronaldo can set a new record for goals scored in a UEFA Champions League group stage when Real Madrid visit FC Copenhagen (Denmark) on Tuesday, FIFA official website reports.

The 28-year-old Portuguese has found the net eight times in just four European appearances this season to equal the record jointly held by Ruud Van Nistelrooy (Holland), Filippo Inzaghi (Italy), Hernán Crespo (Argentina) and Zlatan Ibrahimović (Sweden), who has also scored eight times for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG; France) this season. But Ibrahimović will not be playing in PSG’s Champions League group match against S.L. Benfica (Portugal).

The Real Madrid-Copenhagen game will kick off at 11։45pm, Armenia time.
