The game referee awarded a penalty against FC Real Madrid (Spain) in the latter’s Champions League group match against Juventus (Italy) on Tuesday.
As a result, the Spanish club broke the record for the most number of Champions League penalties awarded against a club, as a total of nineteen Champions League penalties have been awarded against Real.
The previous record belonged to Arsenal (England), with eighteen awarded penalties in the Champions League.
