Usain Bolt is an animal – Armenian former USSR long jump world record holder

If I train Usain Bolt for long jump, he will jump nine meters in several months, stated Igor Ter-Ovanesyan, the five-time Olympian and two-time Olympic medalist in the long jump.

The Armenian former USSR long jumper, who is one of the holders of the five world records in this event, spoke about the Jamaican sprinter, who is the current world record holder in the 100 and 200 meters and a six Olympic gold medal winner.

“I believe world records will not be broken in Moscow [during the ongoing 14th IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) World Championships in Athletics]. The Luzhniki [Stadium] is not an athletics arena, but rather a football [arena].

“The problem is not that Bolt is in bad form. Bolt is an animal; an intelligent animal. He hears the whistle and instinctively runs as quickly as possible.

“Usain is a unique animal, and I offer him a $1million bet. If I train Bolt for long jump, he will jump nine meters in several months [To note, the current long jump record stands at 8․95 meters].

“If this does not happen, let him take all the money. Let him pay me solely $300,000 for the work. I am ready to take a risk,” Sovsport.ru quotes Ter-Ovanesyan as saying.
