The head coach of Armenian wrestling team Araik Baghdadyan in a conversations with the reporter of NEWS.am Sport said that they no longer have any expectations from Ruslan Basiev, so they say goodbye to him.
Now wrestling team is preparing for the championship of Armenia, which will be held December 20 to 22 at “Mika” Sports Complex
Ruslan Basiev (120 kg) and Khadzhimurad Nurmagomedov (84 kg) will not be taking part in the championship.
As Ara Bagdasarian noted, Ruslan Basiev is leaving the Armenian team.
“Ruslan is a grown man already. He will soon be 34 years old. We do not have any expectations from him, and we do not hope that he will earn medals. Yes, he is a citizen of our country, and an athlete of his weight class is very hard to find, but because his capabilities are down, it does not make sense to continue his performances.”
