Toni Kroos addresses Germany national squad fans

Germany and Real Madrid former midfielder Toni Kroos, who retired from professional football after Euro 2024, addressed the fans of the German national team.

"I believe that in the last three months we [i.e. Germany] have achieved an objective that was not there in the previous few years. We have a national team that encourages and inspires the fans. Several players who formed the core of the previous team are no longer in the team; this is an opportunity for new footballers.

I ask the fans to support the [German] national team and give it strength. I know the players of the national team; they deserve support. At Euro 2024, we saw that it is easier for footballers when the country is behind them, not doubting [them]," Kroos said, Kicker reports.

In the quarterfinals of Euro 2024, Germany lost to Spain, which later became the champions.

Toni Kroos played 113 matches in the German national team, scored 17 goals, made 21 assists, and became the 2014 World Cup champion.
