The first pairings in the men's and women's singles semifinals have been decided at the US Open tennis tournament in New York.
Accordingly, in the men's quarterfinals, Taylor Fritz (USA) defeated Alexander Zverev (Germany) and will face fellow countryman Frances Tiafoe, who earlier beat Grigor Dimitrov (Bulgaria), for a spot in the final.
And in the women's quarterfinals, world No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) defeated Paris Olympics champion Qinwen Zheng (China), and in the semifinals she will compete with Emma Navarro (USA), who earlier had eliminated Paula Badosa (Spain) from the rest of this competition.
The prize fund of the US Open is $75 million.
