World Cup champion Andreas Brehme dies at 63

German football legend Andreas Brehme has died at the age of 63, DPA reports.

His family did not disclose the cause of death.

Brehme played as a defender and a midfielder. 

He became the 1990 World Cup champion as part of the then West Germany national team.

During his club career, Brehme played at Kaiserslautern, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, and Real Zaragoza, and won the German Bundesliga title twice and the Italian Serie A title once.
