Mbappe: Griezmann is disappointed that he did not get France national team captain armband 

Kylian Mbappe, the new captain of the French national football team and the 24-year-old star striker of PSG, presented his views on the role of the captain of the national squad.

"A good captain should unite the players around him and lead them behind him. He should be focused on the team. My first week in my new role went well. Many people congratulated me. I want to be open to my teammates, to give them a chance to express themselves.

"Yes, I talked with [Antoine] Griezmann about the captaincy. He is disappointed that he did not get the captain's armband.

I understand him. I would have the same reaction. Griezmann is an important player in the [manager Didier] Deschamps era team. We will strive for new victories together," Mbappe said Foot National reported.
