The newly appointed manager of the Belgian national football team, Domenico Tedesco, has chosen Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne as the new captain of the national squad.
"This is a proud moment. I have been playing in the national team for a long time, but representing my country as a captain is a great honor. I hope that I will fulfill my duties well," De Bruyne said, the press service of the Belgian national team informed.
Belgium will face Sweden on Friday in the first round of the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying tournament.
