Spanish vice-champion Barcelona have extended the contract of defender Marcos Alonso until 2024. June, according to the press service of the Catalan club. The amount of compensation for the 32-year-old Spanish footballer is 50 million euros.
Last summer Marcos Alonso agreed to a salary cut to join Barcelona, but both sides signed a one-year contract with an agreement to extend the partnership if his level of play meets the requirements of the Spanish team's head coach Xavi.
Alonso is a pupil of Real Madrid and has also played at Bolton, Fiorentina, Sunderland and Chelsea.
