Champions League: Inter lose, Eintracht and Tottenham are in Round of 16; match results of the day

The clubs in groups A, B, C, and D on Tuesday played their matches in the last round of the UEFA Champions League group phase.

In Group A, Liverpool and Napoli, who have already qualified for the Round of 16, met in England, and Liverpool won 2-0. The first place in the group was taken by Napoli, which amassed 15 points. Liverpool finished second, with the same number of points. Ajax, which won 3-1 against Glasgow Rangers and garnered 6 points, took third place in this group and qualified for the Round of 32 of the UEFA Europa League. Rangers suffered six losses.

In Group B, Porto played host to Atletico Madrid and won 2-1. Porto finished first, with 12 points, in this group. The Portuguese team had already booked their spot in the Round of 16 in the penultimate round. Atletico took the last place, with 5 points, and ended their campaign in the European tournaments. Bayer Leverkusen, which hosted Brugge and played a goalless draw, took third place, with the same number of points, and qualified for the Round of 32 of the Europa League. Brugge had secured a place in the Champions League Round of 16 in the previous round.

In Group C, Bayern Munich recorded their sixth win. They hosted Inter Milan and won 2-0. Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the former captain and midfielder of the Armenian national team, was among Inter's substitutes and he entered the pitch in the 60th minute. Both teams had secured their spots in the playoffs in the previous round. Inter finished the group stage with 10 points. In the other group match, Barcelona were hosted by Viktoria Plzen and won 4-2. Barca finished third, with 7 points, and will continue their campaign in the Europa League playoffs.

In Group D, Tottenham Hotspur beat Marseille 2-1 and finished first, with 11 points, in this group. Eintracht Frankfurt defeated Sporting Lisbon 2-1, took second place, with 10 points, and won the second spot in the Champions League Round of 16. Sporting will play in the Europa League playoffs.
