Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) has reached the final of the US Open that is nearing its end in New York
The world No. 4 faced world No. 26 Frances Tiafoe (USA), 24, in the semifinals, and the 19-year-old Spaniard won in five sets in the match that lasted 4 hours and 19 minutes.
Alcaraz's opponent in the final will be world No. 7 Casper Ruud (Norway), who defeated Muscovite Armenian Karen Khachanov (Russia) in their semifinal clash.
Also, the winner of the final will top the men’s world rankings. There will be a new world No. 1 after Daniil Medvedev (Russia), who will be out of the top three.
The prize fund of the US Open is $60 million.
