Iga Swiatek, who is currently ranked world No. 1 by the Women's Tennis Association, has reached the quarterfinals of the US Open.
In the Round of 16, the Polish tennis star defeated, in 2 hours and 24 minutes, Jule Niemeier (Germany) in three sets.
In the quarterfinals, Swiatek will face Jessica Pegula (USA) for a spot in the semifinals.
The prize fund of the US Open is $60 million.
