American Cup: Aronian, Sevian are in semifinals

Levon Aronian and Samuel Sevian have reached the semifinals of The American Cup 2022 chess tournament being held in St. Louis, Missouri.

In the semifinals, former leader of the Armenian men’s national chess team Aronian—who has received US sports citizenship and now represents the US—will face Leinier Dominguez, while American Armenian chess player Sevian will face Fabiano Caruana.

The prize fund of The American Cup is $300 thousand, and the winner will receive $50 thousand.
