German champion Bayern Munich and English Liverpool reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
Bayern defeated Austria's Salzburg 7-1 in the return leg. Polish striker Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick, marking the fifth time this season that he has scored three goals in a single match.

German forward Thomas Müller scored a double, German midfielder Serge Gnabry and German striker Leroy Sané scored once each.
The first game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Liverpool lost at home to Italian champion Inter Milan with a score of 0-1. Argentinian forward Lautaro Martínez scored the only goal in the 61st minute.

In the first match Liverpool won with a score of 2-0 and reached the 1/4 finals.
