Rafael Nadal, a 21-time Grand Slam winner, started with a victory at the ATP 250 tournament in Acapulco, Mexico. The 35-year-old Spaniard defeated the 29-year-old American Denis Kudla 6-3, 6-2. The match lasted 1 hour and 17 minutes.
In the second round Nadal will fight with the representative of the USA, 24-year-old Stefan Kozlov.
With this win, Nadal repeated the personal record he set in 2014 - 11 consecutive wins at the beginning of the season.
