World number one Novak Djokovic returns to Belgrade

Tennis star Novak Djokovic, who was deported from Australia for violating his entry visa, has returned home. After arriving in the Serbian capital Belgrade, Djokovic refused to comment.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Australia had announced that Djokovic will not have the opportunity to arrive in Australia for three years.

The Australian federal court did not satisfy the appeal of the 9-time champion of the Australian Open.

The Serbian tennis player is not vaccinated against coronavirus, as he got infected and recovered in December. The Australian Border Guard Service revoked Djokovic's visa, but the court upheld the appeal and reinstated it.

According to Australian anti-epidemic rules, all foreigners must be vaccinated against coronavirus vaccines to enter the country. Medical exceptions do not include being infected and recovering during the previous six months.

However, the organizing committee of the Australian Open last month informed the participants in a letter that tennis players who have been ill and recovered for half a year may not be vaccinated.
