Former world number one Rafael Nadal achieved his 70th win Monday at the Australian Open.
The 35-year-old Spanish tennis star beat Marcos Giron (USA) in three sets in the first round. The match lasted 1 hour and 51 minutes.
In the second round, Nadal's opponent will be the winner of the first-round clash between Yannick Hanfmann (Germany) and Thanasi Kokkinakis (Australia).
Rafael Nadal, the winner of 20 Grand Slams, has won the Australian Open only once—in 2009.
