Florentino Perez: Real is club with most fans in the world

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez commented on the club's victory in the Supercopa de Espana (Spanish Super Cup).

"This title is very important. We [i.e., Real] have undergone significant changes recently, and we are opening a new era with [manager Carlo] Ancelotti, who knows us very well. We changed the defense, and it gave good results. We are happy and full of optimism.

"Real is a global club, there are [Real] Madrid fans all over the world. Football is global, our club is also global. Undoubtedly, Real is the [football] club with the most fans in the world," Perez said, Mundo Deportivo reported.

In Sunday’s final in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, Real Madrid beat defending champions Athletic Bilbao 2-0 to win the Spanish Super Cup for the 12th time.
