The third of the traditional Boxing Day football matches of the Premier League has been postponed. The Barnley-Everton match in the 19th round scheduled for Dec. 26 has been postponed due to the lack of field players who have either contracted COVID-19 or have received injuries, skysports.com.
On Dec. 23, Everton’s Spanish manager Rafael Benitez declared that he has 9 field players and 3 goalkeepers at his disposal.
Among the matches of Dec. 26 that were moved are also the Liverpool-Leeds United and Wolverhampton-Watford matches due to coronavirus outbreaks in the football clubs.
