Benzema: The show must go on

Real Madrid and France striker Karim Benzema thanked those who voted for him in the Ballon d’Or voting. Benzema took fourth place.

Benzema tweeted, “Thanks to everyone who supports me I play football for you and the show must go on #halamadrid #nueve #alhamdulilla.”

The star striker of PSG and Argentina Lionel Messi was awarded France Football’s 2021 Ballon d’Or award for the footballer of the year—and for the seventh time.

Messi had won the Ballon d’Or in 2019, too.

In 2020, however, this award ceremony was not held due to the coronavirus pandemic.
