Armenia hosted Group J leaders Germany in Yerevan in the last round of the group stage in the European qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, but they lost 1-4.
Germany amassed 27 points in Group J, and Armenia finished fourth, with 12 points.
The second place in Group J and the right to participate in the spring playoffs for the rest of the spots in the 2022 World Cup went to North Macedonia, which beat Iceland 3-1 and garnered 18 points in Group J.
And Romania defeated Liechtenstein 2-0, amassed 17 points, and finished third in this group.
