Participation of unvaccinated footballers in 2022 FIFA World Cup is in jeopardy

The participation of footballers not vaccinated against COVID-19 in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar is in jeopardy.

Qatar’s leadership requires that the International Football Federation mandate vaccination of the participants of the championship and not let allow the entry of those who refuse to get vaccinated, The Athletic reports.

In Qatar, 82% of the population (nearly 3,000,000 citizens) have already received the coronavirus vaccine. For comparison, only 15% of the footballers of teams of the English Premier League are vaccinated.
