The participants of the final of the women’s solo at the US Open in New York have been announced.
Emma Raducanu, 18, easily scored a victory over Maria Sakari during the semi-final (6-1, 6-4).
Raducanu’s opponent in the final will be Canada’s 19-year-old Leyla Fernandez (73rd racket), who competed with 23-year-old Belarusian tennis player Arina Sabalenka (second racket) during the semi-final and outscored the latter in three sets — 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-4. The match lasted 2 hours and 21 minutes.

The tennis players are the youngest participants of the Grand Slam since 2004 when Russia’s Maria Sharapova won Wimbledon at the age of 17.
Raducana is the first tennis player to reach the final after the qualifier in the history of the US Open.
After 1999, this is the first final of the Grand Slam during which U-20 tennis players will be playing. In 1999, Serena Williams defeated 18-year-old Swiss tennis player Martina Hingis.
