Levon Aronian (Armenia) has reached the Aimchess US Rapid online tournament’s quarterfinals where he will compete with Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan).
After three match days, the Armenian chess grandmaster has tallied 9.5 points out of 15, and he shares the 3rd and 4th places with Alireza Firouzja (France).
The online chess competition, which started on August 28, will conclude Sunday.
