Aleksandar Glisic: This goal and win is for all of you, my dear Armenians

Bosnian forward for Armenia’s champion FC Alashkert Aleksandar Glisic shared his impressions of the historic victory over Kazakhstan’s Kayrat during the response match in the third qualifying round of the Europa League. During the match that took place at Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan, the 28-year-old footballer scored a victorious goal in the added time after coming out to the field as a replacement.

“What a night for the Armenian football, this club and us. We made history tonight and showed that anything is possible when you believe in it and want it. This goal and win is for all of you, my dear Armenians. I love you all,” Glisic wrote on his Instagram.

FC Alashkert won 3-2 in the added time. During the first match held in Almaty, a goalless tie was recorded, and Glisic failed to make an 11-meter kick successfully.

In the play-off qualifying round of the Europa League, the Armenian football club will compete with Scotland’s champion Glasgow Rangers, the manager of which is Liverpool’s legendary midfielder Steven Gerard. The first match will take place on August 19 in Glasgow, and the return match will take place on August 26 in Yerevan.
