Levon Aronian failed to defeat his Vietnamese opponent Le Quang Liem in the semi-final of Chessable Masters.
The first day, the Armenian chess grandmaster was defeated 1-3 in four games. The second day, Aronian succeeded in tying the total score and scored a victory (4 games, 2.5-1.5). During the tie-break, Le Quang Lem won 2-1 in three games.
In the quarter-final, Aronian defeated Azerbaijani chess player Shakhriyar Mamedyarov.
Chessable Masters is the eighth stage of Meltwater Champions Chess Tour, which has a prize fund worth $1,600,000.
