Forward for the Argentina national team Lionel Messi has returned to Catalonia after his vacation, Diario Sport reports.
The 34-year-old footballer is expected to sign a new contract with FC Barcelona.
On July 1, FC Barcelona’s senior player obtained the status of free agent. After participating in the play-offs for the Copa America as part of the Argentina national team, he was spending his vacation at Ibiza.
Last summer, Messi wanted to quit FC Barcelona, but the latter didn’t let him go. During this past season, Messi played 47 matches during all the tournaments with FC Barcelona, scored 38 goals and made 14 passes for goals. Since 2005, he has been a member of the Catalonians’ main team.
