Reigning World Cup champions France and Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has tested positive for COVID-19, the club's press service reported.
Since he had played in Euro 2020, the 33-year-old footballer had been given additional time for rest.
He took a coronavirus test in Lyon, France, and it came back positive.
Benzema will return to Madrid only after recovering.
