UFC 264: McGregor breaks ankle, victory is awarded to Poirier

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor faced American lightweight Dustin Poirier at the main event of UFC 264 in Las Vegas.

Toward the end of the first round, however, the Irishman broke his left ankle.

The fight was stopped, and the victory was awarded to Poirier by technical knockout.

McGregor will get 10 million euros from this bout, and Poirier—3 million.

This was the third fight between McGregor and Poirier. The latter had beaten the Irish fighter by knockout at UFC 257 in Abu Dhabi on January 24.

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier had clashed also on September 27, 2014 when the Irishman had won by technical knockout.
