Former member of the Armenia national football team, French-Armenian Michel Der Zakarian has been appointed manager of Brest, the football club’s website reported.
Der Zakarian, 58, quit Montpellier in May after being appointed in 2017. During the French championship that is now over, Montpellier scored 8th place with 54 points, while Brest were in 17th place.
Throughout his football career, Michel Der Zakarian played for Montpellier between 1988 and 1998, and played for the Armenia national team in 1996-97. Der Zakarian started pursuing his coaching career in 1998 with Montpellier. Throughout his career, he has also managed Nantes, Clairmont and Reims.
